With nearly three decades of electrical engineering and construction experience, Kevin is involved in all aspects of the company. Kevin became an Associate at MEP in 2009 and became a Principal and President in 2022. His wide range of the experience in residential, industrial, retail, and educational facilities gives him unique insight in addressing complex project issues.  He also facilitates constant communication and coordination with project team members and our clients ensuring all project expectations are exceeded.

Principal

Jeff Carney began his career in the electrical engineering industry in 1994 and joined MEP in 2005 as an electrical designer.  He’s honed his experience in the field and grew into various roles over the years from designer, project lead, team lead.  Jeff became an Associate at MEP in 2010 and became a Principal and Vice President in 2022. He continues to expand his knowledge in the daily business operations. His experience with MEP systems, project & team management and the large variety of project types gives him a strong understanding of the complexities of the industry and different challenges of projects we design. Dedication, communication, planning and paying attention to the details has translated to many successful projects for MEP and our Clients.

Co-Founder and Principal

Roger has over 25 years of experience in the engineering consulting field, with an emphasis on electrical, fire alarm, and telecom building systems. His education as an Architectural Engineer allows him to expand his expertise into the mechanical and plumbing disciplines enabling him to work in and design all systems within a building. Roger possesses the unique ability to visualize a project from start to finish; meaning difficult building system problems become very clear and concise.

With over thirty years of experience in engineering, Tom brings a high level of quality design experience to MEP, though his passion lies in building and maintaining long-term client relationships. He lives for great customer service, attention to detail, and internal quality control. His diverse knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing and fire protection enables him to deliver design excellence to projects with overall client satisfaction.

Co-Founder, Principal and Friend

January 7, 1966—April 13, 2009

In April 2009, MEP Engineering, Inc. lost a key part of the team as Joe Lopeman, Principal and co-founder, passed away after fighting a year-long battle from a motorcycle accident in 2008. He was not only a Principal at MEP Engineering, Inc. but a true friend to many who knew him. Joe’s real passion was for his family who always remained at the center of his world. He was a big sports fan, loved to have fun and enjoyed living life to its fullest and is truly missed. We continue to look to his vision and fortitude for guidance as MEP Engineering, Inc. continues to grow and looks toward the future.
